Why I Believe an Organized Home Is the First Step to Mental Clarity

Hi, I’m Erin, and I’m the owner of Your Home In Bloom, based here in Orlando, FL. I started this business not just because I love organizing, but because I’ve lived through the chaos that clutter can create. As someone who has ADHD and anxiety, I know firsthand how hard it can be to stay organized when your brain already feels like it’s running in a hundred different directions.

For me, organization isn’t just about making a space look pretty. It’s about creating systems that help you feel less overwhelmed, more supported, and more in control. And I truly believe that when your space starts to feel lighter, your mind does too.

Clutter Isn’t Just Physical—It’s Mental, Too

Have you ever looked around your home and felt like you didn’t know where to start? Like, no matter how much you cleaned, the mess came back—and so did that heavy feeling in your chest?

I’ve been there. And you’re not alone.

Clutter can increase cortisol levels, the primary stress hormone, particularly in women. Studies have shown that cluttered spaces can cause spikes in cortisol throughout the day, contributing to chronic stress and a disproportionate amount of mental labor in the home.

When our home feels chaotic, it’s hard to think clearly or feel calm. That’s why I believe organization isn’t just about tidying up—it’s a tool to support your mental health.

It’s Not About Perfection—It’s About Systems That Work for You

One of the biggest things I’ve learned—both in my own life and while working with clients—is that organization should never be one-size-fits-all.

Some people need things out where they can see them. Others need everything tucked away. Some people need labels and bins, while others just require a single designated spot for keys or mail to avoid the daily scramble.

I help clients create systems that work for their brains and their lifestyle, not what social media says your home should look like. Real homes. Real life. Real solutions.

Because once a system works for you, everything becomes easier to maintain.

Why I Started Your Home In Bloom

I started Your Home In Bloom because I believe your home should be a sanctuary, not a source of stress. I know how it feels to be doing your best and still feel stuck—and I want you to know that doesn’t mean you're failing. It just means you might need support.

This work is personal to me. I’ve always been someone who cares deeply about helping others, and through this business, I get to do just that—by creating spaces that feel calming, functional, and aligned with your life.

Whether you’re navigating ADHD, anxiety, motherhood, or just everyday overwhelm, you don’t have to do it all on your own.
